PARÉ Innovations × Vasant Creative
20+ exhibition projects
After 20+ projects with the same client, understanding the brand is no longer the difficult part. The difficult part is making sure you never become too comfortable with it. That has been one of the most interesting parts of Vasant Creative’s relationship with PARÉ Innovations.
Over the years, Vasant Creative has designed and executed more than 20 exhibition projects for PARÉ Innovations across India, including projects in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune. The projects have taken us across exhibitions such as ACETECH, INDIAWOOD, MATECIA, Orgatec and iDAC, with individual spaces ranging from approximately 36 sqm to 200 sqm. But the number of projects is only one part of the story. What made this relationship particularly interesting was the product itself — and what we could do with it.
What if the product wasn’t displayed
in the booth, but became the booth?
PARÉ works with architectural surfaces and products for walls, ceilings, façades and other interior applications. For an exhibition designer, that opens up an interesting possibility. Instead of designing a booth first and then finding places to display PARÉ’s products, we often started with the products themselves.
Our teams would brainstorm together:
What else can we do with this material? Could something normally used on a wall become part of the façade?, Could another product become a ceiling feature?, Could profiles create curves, forms or architectural details?, Could a material become an installation rather than simply a sample?, Could the structure visitors were looking at actually demonstrate the product they had come to see?.
Those questions began shaping the spaces we created.
The idea was never to use a product differently simply for the sake of being different. It was to help the architects, interior designers, dealers and other professionals visiting the exhibition see possibilities that may be difficult to communicate through a catalogue or a sample alone. Wherever possible, instead of explaining what a PARÉ product could do, we wanted the exhibition space to show it.
20+ projects also means
20+ opportunities to repeat yourself
Repeat business makes some things easier. You understand the brand better. You know the products. You know the team. You know what has worked before. Creatively, that can also become a problem. Because the easiest answer to the next brief is often something close to the previous one.
With PARÉ, we tried not to let familiarity become repetition. Every new exhibition brought back the same question: what haven’t we done yet? That question followed us from one city to another. A 200 sqm ACETECH project in Mumbai.
Another 200 sqm project at ACETECH in New Delhi. A 160 sqm ACETECH space in Mumbai. Approximately 126 sqm and 56 sqm at INDIAWOOD in Bengaluru. Approximately 105 sqm and 96 sqm at MATECIA in New Delhi.
Projects at ACETECH Hyderabad, iDAC Mumbai, Orgatec Mumbai, MATECIA Kolkata and IID PRC Pune followed as the relationship continued. Across the PARÉ projects for which dimensions are currently recorded, Vasant Creative has designed and executed more than 1,200 sqm of exhibition space across India. The scale grew. The geography changed. The design couldn’t stand still.
Designing for
people who design spaces
There was another reason these projects needed a different approach. PARÉ exhibits to an audience that understands design. At exhibitions such as ACETECH, INDIAWOOD and MATECIA, many of the people walking into the booth are architects, interior designers, consultants, dealers and professionals who spend their working lives thinking about materials and spaces. A conventional display can tell them what a product looks like. A thoughtfully designed environment can show them what is possible with it.
That distinction influenced the way we approached PARÉ’s booths. A surface didn’t necessarily have to remain a surface. A profile didn’t have to be presented only in its conventional application. A material could become an entrance, a ceiling, a feature, a form or an architectural moment within the booth. In some projects, the line between product display and exhibition architecture almost disappeared. PARÉ supplied the possibilities. Our job was to find interesting ways of turning those possibilities into space.
Mumbai. Delhi. Bengaluru. Hyderabad. Kolkata. Pune.
The creative side of the relationship is one story. Executing more than 20 projects across India is another. Every exhibition brought a different venue, floor plan, scale, timeline and set of on-ground requirements. A 200 sqm project at ACETECH Mumbai required a very different approach from a 126 sqm INDIAWOOD booth in Bengaluru or a 36 sqm project in Pune.
But the client’s experience shouldn’t become more complicated simply because the exhibition moves to another city.
Vasant Creative is an exhibition stall design and construction company executing projects across India, with experience delivering exhibition booths and large-format spaces in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune and other major exhibition markets. Our role extends from concept development and detailed planning through production, installation and final handover. For a client participating repeatedly across the country, that means the city can change without having to rebuild the entire execution ecosystem around every exhibition and that matters because PARÉ’s team isn’t participating in an exhibition to manage contractors, production schedules and installation details.
They are there for the architects walking into the booth. The designers discovering a new application. The dealers having conversations. The customers evaluating products. The relationships and business that can come from those interactions. Our responsibility is to take care of what happens behind the exhibition space so the client’s team can focus on what happens inside it.
The advantage of knowing a brand
without assuming you know the answer
After enough projects together, there is a natural shorthand between teams. You understand the brand. You understand the products. You understand what has already been tried. That familiarity can make the next project easier. We think it should also make the creative challenge harder. Because once you know what has already worked, the question becomes:
What can we explore next?
That has been an important part of our relationship with PARÉ. The first few projects helped us understand what could be done with their products. The projects that followed became about finding something we hadn’t done with them yet.
More than
20 projects later
Exhibition booths are temporary. The learning from them doesn’t have to be. Every PARÉ project added something to the next conversation — an application we had already explored, a detail we could improve, a material we could approach differently or simply an idea we knew we shouldn’t repeat. Over time, that accumulated understanding became part of the relationship.
Vasant Creative has designed and executed more than 20 exhibition projects for PARÉ Innovations across India, including projects in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune at major architecture, interiors and building-material exhibitions such as ACETECH, INDIAWOOD, MATECIA, Orgatec and iDAC.
The projects have ranged from approximately 36 sqm to 200 sqm, with more than 1,200 sqm of documented exhibition space across the projects for which dimensions are currently recorded. Across those projects, our role has gone beyond exhibition stall construction. It has been to understand the product, explore how it can become part of the architecture, translate those ideas into buildable exhibition environments, and then take responsibility for bringing them to life on the exhibition floor. So that the client’s attention can remain where it belongs: On their products. Their customers. Their conversations. Their business. More than 20 projects later, perhaps the best part is that we are still asking the same question we did at the beginning: What can we do differently with the next one?
